The Taos Pueblo
The northernmost, and undoubtledly [sic] one of the most popular, of all the pueblos, Taos, also known as the "place of the red willows", sits at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Its adobe, multistoried homes have captivated painters and photographers since the 1920s, when an historic artist colony formed in nearby Taos and virtually established Southwest art. This view, photographed by Ted Osmundson in 1989, was one of a series that he did of the Pueblos of New Mexico.
