Interior Use
Architects and landscape architects often design both the structures and furnishings that enhance the style of an environment. For example, the Arts & Crafts movement, a reaction to increasingly mass-produced objects and housing, was characterized by locally handcrafted wood, glass, and metal work with an emphasis on simplicity and elegance. Architects that embraced the movement, such as Greene & Greene, Julia Morgan, and Frank Lloyd Wright designed furniture and light fixtures as well as fountains, sculpture, carpets, art, glass windows, and bookcases.
