Ida F. McCain
Ida F. McCain (1884- ?)
McCain worked as a draftswoman, then architect in Portland and Los Angeles from 1909-14, then in San Francisco and San Mateo as an architect from 1915 to the late '20s or early '30s. She worked with prominent real estate developers, including Stephen A. Born and Baldwin & Howell. McCain designed both speculative homes and one-of-a-kind designs for custom clients. She and her meticulous and sensitive house designs were touted as a selling point in Baldwin & Howell’s ads for their developments.
