Pools

In California, swimming pools play a significant role in outdoor leisure. As with multi-family residences the degree of formality in the drawing often reflects the type of client, and as with single family homes the drawing can reflect the relationship between the client and the designer.

The shark and octopus in Joe Esherick’s sketch or Tommy Church’s diving man indicate a friendly relationship with the client, while the designs for the public pool and the residential developments indicate a more formal relationship.
